NFHS Welcomes FlagStat as Official and Exclusive Flag Football Statistics Platform

BY NFHS ON September 14, 2026 | NFHS NEWS, PRESS RELEASE

The NFHS is pleased to announce a new three-year corporate partnership with FlagStat, which will serve as the Official and Exclusive Flag Football Statistics Platform of the NFHS.

Through the partnership, the NFHS and FlagStat will work together to provide schools, coaches and state associations with access to technology designed specifically for flag football, including tools for live scorekeeping, statistical tracking, roster management and game reporting.

“Flag football is experiencing tremendous growth across the country, and as more schools and state associations add the sport, it is important to have resources that are built specifically for the needs of flag football programs,” said NFHS Executive Director Davis Whitfield. “FlagStat has developed a leading platform to help coaches efficiently capture and share game information along with managing the other aspects of a modern flag program. We are excited to welcome FlagStat as a partner.”

Purposely built for flag football, FlagStat provides real-time play-by-play scoring and automatically tracks individual and team statistics throughout a game. The platform records passing, rushing, receiving and defensive statistics and generates complete box scores, game reports and season-long statistical information. Coaches can create Instagram posts using individual or team stats, or even export directly into MaxPreps with the click of a button. Officials overseeing a multitude of flag football teams can make use of FlagStat League to provide administrative support to an entire program.

“FlagStat has been conceived, and built, as the operating system for flag football,” CEO Bradley Metrock remarked. “We want to change how flag football coaches view in-game statistics and reporting, from just another burden for overworked staffs, to something joyful that their program can be built upon.”

The partnership comes as participation in high school flag football continues to increase significantly. According to the 2025-26 NFHS High School Athletics Participation Survey, 102,360 girls participated in flag football at 3,990 schools nationwide, an increase of 48.7 percent from the previous year. A total of 37 states are expected to either sanction the girls flag football or conduct independent or pilot programs by the 2026-27 school year.

FlagStat has already been utilized at the state association level, including as the official scoring platform for the 2026 Florida High School Athletic Association Flag Football State Playoffs. The platform provides built-in support for NFHS, NFL FLAG and NIRSA rulesets, and has been an official MaxPreps Stat Import Partner since the beginning of 2026.

As an NFHS Corporate Partner, FlagStat will have opportunities to engage with the NFHS membership through NFHS platforms, events and educational initiatives while sharing information and resources with coaches, athletic administrators and other leaders in education-based athletics.

“The continued expansion of flag football is creating new opportunities for students to participate in education-based athletics,” Whitfield added. “We look forward to working with FlagStat and provide our membership with another resource to support the coaches, administrators and student-athletes who are helping build the future of the sport.”
