How to Submit a Record Application
The NFHS is tasked is maintaining national records in a variety of sports through the National High School Sports Record Book.
In order for a performance to be included in the Record Book, it must go through an approval process. This process can be initiated through an online application.
Individuals can fill out and submit the application to the NFHS. It will then be routed to the respective NFHS member state association for approval. Each performance must be reviewed and approved by a state association before inclusion in the Record Book.
Once the NFHS receives approval from the state association, it will be entered into the online listings of the Record Book.
Note: National records in track and field, and swimming should use the following application forms.

The Record Book is overseen by the National Records Committee, which is guided by the National Records Committee Policy Handbook.
Sportsmanship Statement
“The National High School Records Committee is pleased to recognize outstanding achievements by teams and individuals.Although it is impossible to determine intent when marks are established, the committee encourages recognition of performances in the true spirit of interscholastic competition. Running up scores or embarrassing an opponent for the primary purpose of inclusion in the Record Book is not consistent with the ideals of good sportsmanship.”
National Honor Rolls
Each year, the NFHS also compiles the nation's best performances in the sports of swimming and track & field. Top 10 Honor Rolls in both sports are then presented on the website.
