Amaris Tyynismaa was the 2014 Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 4A girls cross country champion. She was one of six girls who took home individual state titles in the fall. However, Tyynismaa has had to overcome a paralyzing diagnosis of Tourette syndrome to participate in interscholastic athletics.
