Posting for the Position of Coordinator of Educational Content

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the National Federation of State High School Associations is posting a Coordinator of Educational Content position for consideration. This position will remain open until Friday, February 5, 2016.

The Coordinator of Educational Content will serve as staff support for the Director of Educational Services and will be responsible for organizing, revising, maintaining, and assembling content for the NFHS Learning Center, which lives at www.nfhslearn.com. This position will be tasked to communicate with NFHS partner organizations to ensure current courses are accurate and regularly edited to ensure quality for the NFHS Learning Center. This platform reaches coaches, administrators, parents, students and officials nationwide to assist in creating a better experience for the young people that participate in high school sports and activities.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:  This position will organize and assemble content for the NFHS Learning Center on www.nfhslearn.com.  This individual will be a part of the course creation process from beginning to end.  Duties may include working with content providers across the country, assisting with editing of scripts, and collecting and uploading the final product. Using the NFHSLearn Course Builder, this position will organize course materials, upload videos and images, and assessment exercises for NFHS online courses. With over 40 online courses, it is essential that each is revised and properly maintained. The position will also create, organize and maintain resources for the NFHS Learning Center.

EDUCATIONAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of the NFHS Learning Center – www.nfhslearn.com, its online administrative functions, tools and reports.

  • Positive, customer-focused attitude dedicated and committed to member state associations and partner organizations.

  • Meets regularly with the coach education team for short-term and long-term planning/goals.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Educational Services, Executive Director or Chief Operating Officer.

ESSENTIAL AND RELATED JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organize and assemble content via the NFHSLearn Course Builder.

  • Assemble course outlines, flyers, Power Points to upload to NFHS web platforms.

  • Communicate effectively with course partners.

  • Contribute content to NFHS web platforms, including social media.

  • Export administrative reports on NFHSLearn.com and compile analyzed course data.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Positive, service-centered attitude.

  • Goal and detail oriented, self-starter with the ability to take direction, work independently and serve as a productive team member.

  • Photo editing and video editing skills with willingness to build upon skills.

  • Proven computer skills, including ability to use Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel and Power Point and skills with Publisher and Access are preferred.

  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.

  • Willingness to be flexible and learn new skills for benefit of the department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
