Job Posting: Coordinator of Course Editing

The National Federation of State High School Associations is posting a Coordinator of Course Editing position for consideration. This position will remain open until Thursday, September 7, 2017.

The Coordinator of Course Editing will serve as staff support for the Director of Educational Services and will be responsible for creating, organizing, revising, maintaining, and assembling content for the NFHS Learning Center, which offers over 50 online courses and lives at www.nfhslearn.com. This position will be tasked to communicate with NFHS partner organizations to ensure current courses are accurate and regularly edited to ensure quality for the NFHS Learning Center. This platform reaches coaches, administrators, parents, students and officials nationwide to provide professional development and assist in creating a better experience for the young people who participate in high school sports and activities.

This position will create and edit graphics and video, organize and assemble content for the NFHS Learning Center on www.nfhslearn.com. This individual will be a part of the course creation process from beginning to end. Duties may include working with content providers across the country, assisting with editing of scripts, and collecting and uploading the final product. Using the NFHSLearn Course Builder, this position will organize course materials, upload videos and images, and assessment exercises for NFHS online courses. With over 40 online courses, it is essential that each is revised and properly maintained.

EDUCATIONAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of the NFHS Learning Center – www.nfhslearn.com, its online administrative functions, tools and reports.

  • Positive, customer-focused attitude dedicated and committed to member state associations and partner organizations.

  • Meets regularly with the coach education team for short-term and long-term planning/goals.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Educational Services, Executive Director or Chief Operating Officer

ESSENTIAL AND RELATED JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and edit graphics and video.

  • Develop materials such as course outlines, flyers and other promotional materials for use on NFHS web platforms, including social media.

  • Organize and assemble content via the NFHSLearn Course Builder.

  • Communicate effectively with course partners and content experts.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Positive, service-centered attitude.

  • Adobe Photoshop and other Adobe Creative Cloud applications. Adobe After Effects skills are a plus.

  • Photo editing and video editing skills with willingness to build upon skills.

  • Goal and detail oriented, self-starter with the ability to take direction, work independently and serve as a productive team member.

  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.

  • Proven computer skills, including ability to use Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel and Power Point skills.

  • Willingness to be flexible and complete tasks for benefit of the department.
